Happy Wednesday! ANd we are continuing on in our daily grooming videos! And today is all about mane and tail care. I know, most people are not fans of brushing horse's tails - they say STOP! Don't brush your horse's tail!!!!! But I like brushing my horses tails, and manes too. I don't do it every day, but I do have a brush that is reserved for their manes and tails, and it works pretty good for getting through the tangles without taking a lot of precious tail hair with it.
But something that I do to help prevent tangles, as well as offer a little bit of fly protection is I use a serum of natural oils that I apply to the mane and tail before I brush it. Not only does it work as an excellent detangler, but it helps to keep the flies away as well as add some oils to the tail itself. Which helps to prevent tail rubbing. If they aren't itchy - the don't rub out their tails.
This is what I use in my tail serum:

And then I mix them up in a pump style container and I have an easier way to apply the oil mixture. It really works!
This works great to detangle manes and tails. It works better than any other detangler I have tried. And it is a little expensive to buy all of the ingredients, BUT it lasts a very long time! So in the long run, it's more affordable than buying bottles and bottles of detangler products that seem to dry out the tail over time.
