Originally planted by the wealthy Holford family during the heyday of Victorian plant hunting, Westonbirt contains one of the finest tree collections in the world. In the 1980's the Forestry Commission continued the Holford's love of maples by creating the stunning Maple Loop. Westonbirt now holds the National Collection of Maples and Maple cultivars, ensuring a focus on the conservation of these collections. This walking video will take you round the full Maple Loop, enabling you to enjoy the beautiful landscape from your own screen.

No talking or music, just natural ambient sounds.

If you decide to visit yourself, bear in the mind at time of writing there is an entry fee of £16 per adult during peak Autumn season and advanced booking is strongly recommended. Even with a booking there was still a queue to enter, but once inside it didn't feel too overcrowded on a weekday.
