Описание к видео Magical Hawes, Yorkshire Dales in Fall | 4K Walking Tour

Hawes is a market town and civil parish in North Yorkshire, England, at the head of Wensleydale in the Yorkshire Dales, and historically in the North Riding of Yorkshire. The River Ure north of the town is a tourist attraction in the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

The population in 2011 was 887. The parish of Hawes also includes the neighbouring hamlet of Gayle. Hawes is 31.2 miles (50.2 km) west of the county town of Northallerton. It is a major producer of Wensleydale cheese.

Hawes has a non-profit group that seeks funding to re-open or keep community amenities.

Hawes is the sort of place you could imagine Wallace and Gromit heading to for a holiday. That's because it is home to their favourite cheese – Wensleydale. The cheese was first made in the 12th century by French monks that had settled in the region and it has continued to be produced locally ever since.

Hawes lies in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, and is surrounded by stunning scenery. It is a walkers' paradise at the heart of Wensleydale, and is on the Pennine Way.

The River Ure runs through the town on its way through the dale to Aysgarth Falls, Middleham Castle and Jervaulx Abbey - each of which is a stunning attraction in its own right. Indeed the magnificent Aysgarth Falls have been described as one of the natural wonders of the north.
