THIS TEAM STINKS! Fort Wayne Komets VS Cincinnati Cyclones 2/17/2024

If you were one of the fifteen people who watched the relaxing snow driving video of Muncie and read the description, I apologize for lying to you. Yesterday's laundry day was 2 hours ahead of schedule because nobody wanted to do laundry yesterday for some reason. I made the executive decision to make yesterday's game against the Cyclones my one game of the week. That's good because the insane human-being I am would like to watch the Islanders play in the stadium series game because that will be our version of the Stanley Cup if we win that. Realistically, I think those dang Rangers will win but here's to hoping that I jinx myself. Comments of me being a weird talker and having a fetish for underachieving mediocre garbage in being a Komets fan and Islanders fan is quite Justified.

Fort Wayne (24-20-5) has now slipped to the hockey hell in the spot for best team in the Central Division to book their tee times for April. (Probably at Sycamore Hills GC, the boys club culture would let them in, totally jealous in that course is private.) The Komets have not missed the playoffs since the 2012-2013 season, their first year in the ECHL and the swansong of Al Sims relevant coaching career. Personally, I would want some heads to roll and the team to play in front of tumbleweeds next year on opening night if they do miss the playoffs to send a bloody message, but the corporate money injection will never let than happen and nothing will change. Michael Franke might have passed away but the team shouldn't follow suit. The Komets from top to bottom need to wake up and smell the coffee. Daniel Amesbury, has totally proven every naysayer right in being a total publicity stunt signing. Diamond Hands is pointless in 4 games a -1 and is being a distraction to his team rather than the opposition. The Komets are not just the Toronto Maple Leafs of minor league hockey, they're the modern day's Pittsburgh Penguins of minor league hockey! A fate worse than spinning the hamster wheel of early playoff exits. They're desperately trying to cook up a plan to pretend to be contender and doing a poor job of it. Right now I would trust Raiden Shogun to cook better than the Komets right now, and she can't even cook!

The Cincinnati Cyclones (21-22-4) are somehow behind the Komets in the points table. (But you wouldn't know by watching this video.) They are in a very nasty skid of their own only winning 3 out of their last 10 with all loses in regulation. They have allowed 182 goals so far this season which is bottom 3 in the league. However with a 180 goals for, that's good enough to be top 6 in the league in scoring. (Is Doug Weight their head coach by chance? Just kidding...)
