This is the rigging we used for loading logs and how we have it set up. The overhead cable is 1/2 inch. The yarding cable is 7/16 and the lift cable is 3/8. Those sizes are just what we had handy. Any of those sizes would work for any of those lines. If I was to pick a cable diameter, 7/16 would be my choice for all of them. We used this setup for loading logs into my dump trailer in a location where we don't have a tractor or loader. The logs will be hauled to a Woodmizer LT15 sawmill to be cut into lumber and slabs.
