TEACH YOUR HORSE LEAD CHANGES AND CORRECT CANTER LEADS

Finding the correct canter lead and performing lead changes shouldn’t be difficult, or complicated, like so many riders feel it is!

This video will show you the techniques and training I use to help a horse learn how to find the correct lead easily every time.

I'll take you through canter position, lead changes, counter canter, extended trot, speed gaits, and more.
When a horse is listening and comes into agreement with you they will become soft and light. I like my horses to not anticipate what I'm about to ask them, I like them to be alert and attentive, and if they know what's coming they start to check out. So keep things interesting.

So go ahead and try these techniques… have patience with your horse (and yourself), and you’ll succeed with consistent correct canter leads and lead changes every time going forward.
