After catching two smaller Pike earlier in the morning, I was thinking that is all I would catch. Little did I know that I was going to be in for a real fight. Felt a tick on the end of my line, left it sitting there, saw the line bow up, set the hook, and it was on. I was not expecting to have this big of a Nothern Pike on my medium power, 10- pound mono set up. I knew it was either going to bite me off, or my lovely bass net would not be able to handle this fish. I never plan on catching Pike, so I have not upgraded to a bigger net. Struggled to get this monster Pike to stay in the net long enough to unhook her. Jumped out twice on me and I had to be persistent to land this one. Upon gaining some control of this beast! Finally, it severed the line when thrashing a bit, was able to get her unhooked and back into the water after a little admiration. Super epic kayak battle for me, especially on the lighter gear. This was close to if not my personal best Northern Pike of the year. Crazy battle with this fish and I hope others can enjoy this video as well. Thanks for Watching!!!
