2025 Chery Tiggo 7 High-Energy Edition in-depth Walkaround

The Chery Tiggo 7 High-Energy Edition is the latest variant of the Tiggo 7 SUV, offering a more premium touch to the lineup. Despite the name, "High-Energy Edition" does not signify an electric powertrain but rather a high-end variant, a naming convention Chery has consistently used for upscale versions of its vehicles. This new edition brings a fresh perspective to the Tiggo 7 with refined features and design cues that make it stand out in its segment.

Visually, the Tiggo 7 High-Energy Edition draws comparisons to the Range Rover Evoque, earning it the nickname "Little Land Rover" in Chinese media. The resemblance is particularly evident in the front fascia. However, the interior of the Tiggo 7 High-Energy Edition is far ahead, featuring cutting-edge technology like a large instrument panel, an even larger touchscreen display, and a head-up display (HUD), providing a futuristic and luxurious feel that rivals far more expensive SUVs.

Chery offers two versions of this high-end Tiggo 7: a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine producing 145 kW and a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variant powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine delivering 115 kW, supplemented by an electric motor. While the exact output of the electric motor is yet to be disclosed, the PHEV boasts an LFP battery and an impressively low fuel consumption of just 1.27 liters per 100 kilometers. This level of efficiency puts it miles ahead of competitors like the Evoque in terms of eco-friendliness and cost-effectiveness.
