Spring Boot is widely used and for many it is “the” platform for server applications and microservices. The younger competitor Quarkus claims to be the basis for ultra-fast, small-footprint applications. Both frameworks have an impressive ecosystem and promise the best “developer experience”.

But paper and websites are patient, so let's give it a try. In this talk, a manageable but realistic task is solved with both frameworks. We compare the code and see where there are similarities and where one of the frameworks is stronger.
