2024 Palmdale Plant 42 Heritage Air Park California NASA Boeing 747

We are next door to the Blackbird Airpark in Palmdale California. The next property to the west is the Lockheed Skunkworks. This is Palmdale Regional Airport KPMD. Air Force Plant 42 is on the north side. Lockheed and Boeing have a large presence here. It has been a very busy place over the years.

Years ago Plant 42 created an outdoor museum on the south side. It is only open on weekends and this is the first time I have been here when it's open. I've been here before on a weekday and was happy with what can be seen from the sidewalk outside. It is still possible to see all of the planes quite well at any time. And they have a few special planes. One of the only two Boeing 747's that carried the Space Shuttle is here. Come along for a walk through the planes as I do my best to film the details. I like the details on what individual planes have done in history. As I edit I research each N number, serial numbers, and unit markings. It takes a long time but it's what I like to do. April 2024.
