A long-awaited anticipated day that I never thought I would ever see became a reality. Union Pacific's Big Boy #4014 making way through one of my favorite railfanning locations was like a dream come true, so you know I had to go out for it. Despite the fact that the Big Boy was over 4 hours late due to an earlier freight incident east of Texarkana & a broken-down freight train in Mount Pleasent, the day was still a success. Lots of freight action while we waited, spent the day with some good friends, met lots of new people, & 2 brand new Phase 7 units on Amtrak's Northbound Texas Eagle meeting the Big Boy in Mineola. I couldn't have asked for a better day. This was my first time driving myself in my car to Mineola, & despite the long drive from Dallas to Mineola & back, it was totally worth it.
