Christmas Scones & A Q&A// Hi everyone! We are back with the last video of this year and are sharing a lovely Christmas morning scones recipe and thought we would take this opportunity for a little Q&A as well. Thank you so so much for everything, this community is amazing and we couldn't be happier. Merry Christmas everyone and all the very best for 2020!

We are off to Germany to see our families and will be taking some time off to enjoy our time together. We won't be vlogging in Germany but you can check Instagram (kirsten_wick) for some little snippets on Instagram stories. See you next year!x

(P.S. We bought another camera plus a big microphone and we still have to figure everything out so excuse the sound. We will take everything with us to get better knowledge of the settings.)

RECIPE CHRISTMAS MORNING SCONES:

Ingredients:

2 ½ cups flour (gluten free or regular), 6 tablespoons sugar, 1 tablespoon baking powder, ¾ teaspoon salt, ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg, 2 tablespoons dried cranberries (chopped small), 4 teaspoons minced fresh rosemary, 6 tablespoons unsalted butter (chilled and diced), 1 cup half and half milk and cream, 1 teaspoon vanilla bean paste or extract

Glaze:
1 cup powdered sugar, ½ teaspoon vanilla bean paste or extract, ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg, 2 to 3 tablespoons water

Method:

1. Preheat the oven to 220 degrees Celsius (or about 450 F). Line a baking sheet with a silpat liner.

2. Whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, nutmeg, dried cranberries and rosemary in a large bowl

3. Cut the butter with a fork or using two butter knives until it looks like a coarse meal, Stir in the half and half (the dough should come together but not be too wet).

4. Shape the dough into a ball, then flatten it into a disk; wrap in plastic wrap and chill for 10 minutes.

5. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Roll or press the dough out to a circle about 7 to 8 inches in diameter and ¾ inch thick. Use a scone mould.

6. Transfer the scones to a prepared baking sheet, lightly brush the tops with a little milk and bake until puffed and light golden brown on top and bottom, about 14 to 16 minutes.

7. Once cooled, whisk together all ingredients for the glaze. Use a brush the tops with the glaze letting it run down the sides.

ENJOY!
