If any women are getting pain in the chest wall, following any breast surgery, it could be arising from the breast itself. If they have undergone surgery for benign breast disease, that benign breast disease might have recurred again. And that could be one reason for the pain in the breast. But if you are getting a referred pain, pain coming onto the shoulder and the neck, it could be related to a muscular pain, or something called the pain that is coming because of the block in the nerves in the neck also. So this causes spasm of the muscles , which can indirectly, directly lead to again breast pain. So if there is a referred pain and a radiating pain, you should evaluate these individuals for Vitamin D deficiency or any muscular problems coming from the shoulder and the neck and the involvement of any repetitive stress, pain in these areas. If the women are operated for breast cancer and if they are getting pain in the shoulder or in the arm, it could be because of the blockage of the lymphatics, because we normally remove the lymphatic drainage or lymphatics or lymph nodes in the axilla. So blockage of the lymphatics can also lead to swelling of the hand and the pain in the hand. We need to evaluate these patients to see if it is a muscular pain.
