Neofinetia falcata is the orchid on spotlight on this #CareCollab episode. #NeofinatiaFalcata aka #areVandaFalcata are small Vandas that have become a success similar to bonsai. The origin is the same – Japan – and they are cultivated for the flowers, the foliage and the general presentation of the plant.
Neofinetia falcata was the first orchid to be cultivated as a houseplant in Japan in 1600. It is also known as the Samurai Orchid, as Shogun Tokugawa Ienari fell in love with the plant at the end of the 19th century. It is one of the most expensive orchids in the world, with a history of some varieties selling at astronomical prices! Today, there is a wide range of prices thanks to the commercial cultivation of this popular collectible orchid.
They usually bloom in summer and have a very sweet fragrance reminiscent of jasmine or gardenia. This fragrance is typically strongest at dusk and dawn.

Neofinetia falcata são as estrelas do video de hoje. São pequenas Vandas que se tornaram um sucesso parecido com os bonsais. A origem é a mesma – o Japão – e são cultivadas pelas flores, pela folhagem e pela apresentação geral da planta.
Neofinetia falcata foi a primeira orquídea a ser cultivada como planta de casa no Japão em 1600. Também é conhecida como Orquídea Samurai, pois o Shogun Tokugawa Ienari ter-se-ia apaixonado pela planta no final do século XIX. É uma das orquídeas mais caras do mundo, com um histórico de algumas variedades vendidas a preços astronómicos! Hoje, há uma grande variedade de preços graças ao cultivo comercial desta popular orquídea colecionável. Elas geralmente florescem no verão e têm uma fragrância muito doce que lembra o jasmim ou a gardênia. Esta fragrância é tipicamente mais forte ao entardecer e ao amanhecer.
