Algeria Farm - Project Algerine

Описание к видео Algeria Farm - Project Algerine

The Algeria Farm was a world-class horse racing and breeding facility built by William L. Scott in Erie, Pennsylvania in the late 1800s. It was named after a record-breaking thoroughbred named Algerine, and the complex included a three-quarter mile race track, stables, a hospital, and a boarding house. The farm spared no expense, using only the finest equipment and materials, and even had a heated greenhouse. Today, the site is home to Saint Jude's Church and School.

🐎 The Algeria Farm was a world-class horse racing and breeding facility built by William L. Scott in Erie, Pennsylvania in the late 1800s.
🏟️ The complex included a three-quarter mile race track, stables, a hospital, and a boarding house for workers.
💰 The farm was not about making money for Mr. Scott, but about being the best.
🌿 The pastures around the racetrack had fine grasses for the horses to graze and roam freely.
🔥 The buildings on the farm were heated by natural gas wells piped from Scott's adjoining property.
🏫 The farm had a school house erected on the property for the children of employees.
🙏 Today, the site is home to Saint Jude's Church and School.
