The Birmingham Canal is Great Britain's longest canal network it was originally created in the seventeen sixties and really has many tales to tell from it's original purpose of transporting industry on barges to transporting goods all over great Britain today the Birmingham Canal has mostly fell silent but barges can still be seen going around Birmingham mostly used for pleasure here we take a long walk from Tipton to Smethwick Galton bridge were Thomas Telford created another one of his beautiful bridges Galton bridge along with it's modern looking Galton tunnel what really gives you a look into the industrial canal past we also take a look at the Smethwick pump house were many pieces of the past can still be visible
