"Key to the Abyss" is the debut album by Superstatic, the project from Ireland. The project is started by Rustam (under the name of Alex) known by being a member of Russian band Rakoth (as Rustam) and his solo project Umbral Presence (as Noctulius).

The project's genre can be described as Death/Doom Metal with subtle elements of Black Metal, slow Death Metal, classic Doom Metal and Sludge.

Rakoth: Russian band. Their genre is often referred to as Avantgarde Metal. The band was formed in Obninsk, Russia, in 1996. Since then they have recorded five full-length albums, two of which were released by Earache Records, UK. The latest album titled "Ars Compilata" was released in 2014 by SoundAge Productions, Russia.

Umbral Presence: Rustam's side project (as Noctulius). Alexei "Lex" Plotnikov, known as Mechanical Poet mastermind, played guitars (as Lidagon). The only project's album "Caelethi I" was released in 2006 by SoundAge.
