Shabbat Prep Recipes and Routine

This was the Shabbat right after the 4th of July. We spent all day by the pool, having a BBQ, and just relaxing. The last thing that I wanted to do was cook. I could have definitely ordered everything in this particular Shabbat but once I got in the kitchen, one thing led to another…. I find that at times all it takes is just to get started and the rest follows. Join me in this weeks video on how I prepare for Shabbat/ Sabbath in our Orthodox Sephardic Jewish Home.

📝Recipe:

Stew:
Sauté chuck stew meat until browned
To season add to taste:
Salt
Pepper
Cumin
Coriander
Garlic powder
Bay leaves
Add tomato sauce and water. Bring to a boil. Then simmer for 2 hours until meat is soft. Add potato chunks and simmer again until cooked through.

Chick pea salad:
1 can of chick peas rinsed and drained
Season with salt and pepper to taste
1/2 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp coriander
Squeeze 1 lemon
And a handful of cilantro
3 tbsp of oil
Mix thoroughly and enjoy
