performing with Lyra 8 & The Pipe from SOMA Laboratory

Lyra 8 & The Pipe are both synthesizers by the Russian company "Soma" Laboratory.

Lyra 8 is a unique organismic analogue synthesizer. It is a wonderful instrument. You need to tune it before every performance to be in tune with other instruments. On this video I use it as a drone synth to serve me with nice soundscapes. In the beginning I use the hold knob on the upper register to start the chord, which stays all till the end. Only by the end I play the buttons with my fingers and change to LFO and other options to get more like a noisy soundscape.

The Pipe I first use as an effect to run through the OP-1. First I use the internal Delay with a "freeze" option to sometimes also hold the tones and pitch them up or down.
After a while I change the input of The Pipe to the mouthpiece (there are three different sizes - I use the biggest one) through which I sing. Also there, first I use the delay / freeze filter and also pitch it sometimes.
In the end I change to the drum mode on the synth: I can play drum sounds with my mouth - a bass drum and a snare. I can adjust the sound and length with the three knobs on the instrument.

Next to that I loop and play around with "Blooper" from Chase Bliss Audio and run everything through a reverb and the Zoia from Empress Effects.

Hope you enjoy this video! I recorded it the second day of quarantine (Corona virus) in Switzerland. It should bring calmness and joy to the listener.
