The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has recovered a prime parcel of land valued at KSh35 million, belonging to the State Department for Housing and Urban Development, located near the Bungoma State Lodge in the Milimani area of Bungoma town.The property had been illegally acquired by a private individual, who went as far as demolishing a government house that previously stood on the land.
In a judgment delivered by Justice Enock Cherono of the Bungoma Environment and Land Court, all transactions leading to the land’s acquisition by Judy Nekoye were declared fraudulent, illegal, null, and void.The court further ordered her eviction, revoked the certificate of lease, and directed the Bungoma Land Registrar to rectify the land register by canceling all illegal entries related to the grabbed property.
