Dave Porter who originally commissioned the Sunshine 855 MW transmitter in 1992, switches the 500w service off on 19th January 2024.

These was filmed behind the scenes during the final 10 minutes broadcast, before he threw the off switch just after 1pm.

This sad momentous event was witnessed by current Woofferton engineers and the Sunshine Radio team.

Dave (G4OYX) was a senior transmitter engineer at Woofferton Transmitting Station for over 30 years and continues to provide RF technical services to Sunshine & Community Radio services throughout the UK.
