How can the finite mind of man contain the infinite mystery?
The Creator of all becomes an embryo; the Unbounded is enclosed within the confines of a womb. He who upholds the universe with His word allows Himself to be cradled in the hands of a mother, who marvels: “How can I have given birth to Him who brought me into being? How is it that I hold in my arms as a child the One who knew me before I was formed in my own mother’s womb?”

The Omnipotent enters the frailty of infancy. The Uncontainable One, whom the heavens cannot contain, dwells in a humble cave.

The King of the universe, the Lord of glory, is born poor, unknown, among animals. He who gives everything to humanity has no place to rest His head. The Creator of the stars is illuminated by the light of a lowly manger.

What humility! The Word becomes silence. The Judge of the world stands before history as insignificant. The Timeless One enters into time. And all this to lift up our fall, to clothe our corruption with His incorruptible life, to restore humanity to the loving embrace of the Father.

Who can gaze upon this wonder and not tremble in awe? Who can contemplate a love so boundless, so incomprehensible, without falling silent before its mystery?
Before such a great and unfathomable mystery, the human mind stands still in wonder, whispering in awe: “Glory to Thee, O Lord!”
