UK Student Gaza encampments: Cambridge

Students at Kings College, Cambridge have set up a vibrant and welcoming encampment to push for action over the university's complicity in Israel's ongoing genocide.

The first issue is a complete lack of transparency over what is actually funded at the moment - so the students are demanding full disclosure from the whole university; followed by divestment from those companies involved in mass murder with the money to be put into rebuilding Gaza, and for any students involved in the encampment to be protected - as well as proper care for all those Palestinian students who have been traumatised by the family and friends they've lost.

There was a significant victory this week as Trinity College to announce that it will be divesting from all arms companies, many of which are complicit in the genocide in Gaza.

It came as a result of a few students working for months to get the college to disclose their investments and make them public. When this led to a legal letter suggesting they might well be cimplicit in war crimes, Trinity caved in.

With similar victories in other colleges both in the UK and the US, and encampments rapidly growing and expanding, this incredible movement is now providing real hope that a free Palestine can become a reality.
