Hydrophobic x Neon Goodness 💕

Wait a minute - is Monday becoming a hydrophobic day or is it pure coincidence?

Today I bring you some hydrophobic neon goodness. I made 3 large pies, one large heart, one large flower and some slabs. Of course they broke but still yummy nonetheless. My flower stayed intact though so I’m super grateful. I think the neon colouring made the mixing at the end easier and it was delightful to play in 💕! Reforming this asap.

Mass yesterday was sooo good. The message was all about temptations and how to overcome them. During lent, the main focus of our faith is to get back to God with open hearts.. Part of coming home to God is overcoming temptations, little ones and big ones. The Gospel reading was about when the devil attempted to tempt Christ in the dessert after Christ had fasted for 40 days and 40 nights. I mean what impeccable timing by the devil. He came when he know Christ was at his weakest physically. Note to self: this is when the devil comes, in our weakest moments.

The devil tried absolutely everything to tempt Christ. In summary he used three of the most wanted attractions to humans: PLEASURE, PRIDE AND POWER.

Pleasure because he tried to tempt Christ with food when Christ was at his hungriest. I’m learning that all the pleasures of life don’t match up to the graces we receive when we remain faithful to God. Christ’s answer was simple: the scripture says, ‘man shall not live by bread alone’.

Then the devil proceeded to tempt with pride, saying since you are the supposed son of God throw yourself off this high point for the same scripture says angels will come to your aid and stop even your foot from hitting a stone. Jesus again, turning to scripture answered, yeah well the scripture also says not to tempt the Lord our God.

When all else failed, the devil turned to the final major temptation : POWER. Bow to me and I will give you power over all the kingdoms of the earth. Jesus stony rebuked the devil saying "Begone, Satan! for it is written,
'You shall worship the Lord your God and Him only shall you serve.' "

The lessons here are clear:

Hold tight to scripture to defeat the devil and all his temptations and lies;
The devil will come when you are at your weakest so arm yourself always with the word of God; and
Don’t love anything - pleasure, pride or power, more than you love God. What are we REALLY looking for in this life? Let’s focus your gaze on God, for that is the real prize. An eternity with Him in heaven where no pain or suffering exists… only love…💕
