Known for creating some of the most jaw-dropping Alfa Romeo-based restomods, the boutique Italian marque has always managed to capture the soul of a classic Alfa while pushing the boundaries of engineering and design. Sadly, Totem is closing this exciting chapter soon, but not before delivering one last unforgettable creation: the GT Super SP – Sport Prototipo, a limited-edition farewell masterpiece.

Unveiled during Monterey Car Week at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, the Totem GT Super SP immediately stole the spotlight. Based on the already extraordinary GT Super, this SP version is even bolder, more exclusive, and technically refined. Only 10 examples will ever be produced, making it one of the rarest restomods in the world.

At first glance, the GT Super SP makes an impression with its sheer presence. The car is 130 mm wider than the standard GT Super, thanks to extended carbon fiber arches that give it an aggressive stance. Totem partnered with Capristo, the German exhaust specialist, to relocate the exhaust pipes from the rear to the sides. This not only changes the car’s soundtrack but also allowed Totem to design a new rear diffuser, fully crafted from carbon fiber.

And that’s only the beginning. Every single body panel on the GT Super SP is carbon fiber, making it lightweight, rigid, and visually stunning. This prototype wears a deep maroon finish accented by bronze touches on the headlights, grille, wheels, mirrors, wipers, and window frames. The result is a breathtaking fusion of modern performance with timeless Alfa Romeo elegance.

But Totem didn’t just focus on aesthetics – the engineering is equally impressive. The company reworked the subframes and suspension geometry, equipping the SP with electronically adjustable suspension supplied by ORAM. This ensures that the car’s driving dynamics match its aggressive looks.

The centerpiece, however, is the engine. Powering the GT Super SP is a 2.9-liter twin-turbocharged V6 developed by Italtecnica. It’s a high-performance unit featuring individual throttle bodies, direct and port fuel injection, and outputs a staggering 730 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque. For purists, Totem didn’t settle for an automatic—this beast comes paired with a six-speed manual gearbox, featuring a beautifully crafted gated shifter made from billet aluminum. It’s a rare nod to driving engagement in a world increasingly dominated by dual-clutch and paddle-shift gearboxes.

Step inside, and the cabin is just as spectacular as the exterior. A new carbon fiber transmission tunnel, bronze accents across the dashboard and gauges, and fresh switchgear below the shifter highlight Totem’s obsession with detail. The steering wheel is custom-built and even features a boost function, while the carbon fiber seats are wrapped in blue Alcantara, adding a touch of Italian luxury and motorsport inspiration.

The Totem GT Super SP isn’t just another Alfa restomod; it’s a statement of passion and craftsmanship, a car that dares to push beyond the limits of what a restomod can be.
