What's more difficult; playing this mech, or saying its name? This gameplay showcase will give you an idea of how the preset AC ASTGHIK plays in Armored Core VI PvE, through a mixture of missions and Arena battles.

10:40 - Arena: 11/B "Cinder" Carla - FULL COURSE

ASTGHIK is the Armored Core of Thumb Dolmayan, leader of the Rubicon Liberation Front. A Doser vagrant in his youth, the Fires of Ibis changed Dolmayan in many ways, forging a deeply philosophical firebrand and Coral Warrior who led the Rubiconians against the extraplanetary forces. However, Dolmayan is now old and terribly jaded, leaving military command to "Uncle" Middle Flatwell, with some of the younger RLF members beginning to doubt their "Father". But Dolmayan, more than anyone else, knows of the greater threats to Rubicon...

- The preset AC ASTGHIK shown in the video is unlocked by defeating 04/A Thumb Dolmayan in the Arena. -

It took a long time for the RLF to bring out a Basho AC with KIKAKU boosters that actually used a melee weapon. This is enough for the ASTGHIK to tear itself away from similar ACs such as BURN PICKAXE and YUE YU, but is it actually any good on its own?

The answer is complicated. The ASTGHIK's arsenal is strong, especially the damage-boosted Pulse blade, but it's that same arsenal that proves the biggest roadblock; the ASTGHIK is the only preset AC with two weapon bays. This means that you will, at best, only be using a maximum of two weapons at a time. And while the selection of weapons is flexible, it will still require extreme competency and confidence in your play to make the most of the ASTGHIK.

The Coral-damage Assault Armor gives you a third option (and boost kick a fourth!) but the P04 is perhaps the wrong FCS here - a TALBOT would have made things easier. Instead you'll have to manage your range while managing your arsenal, which will require both patience and practice. The KYORAI napalm launcher, while a personal favourite, could have been a bazooka or grenade launcher instead.

I'm mixed on the ASTGHIK. A great player will be able to maximise all four weapons to their potential, but the ergonomics of the double weapon bay loadout leave much to be desired. There's a strong mech here, but it's buried deep. A hesitant recommendation.

| This is by no means a "guide" to show you how to play the AC; I'm sure there are far better players than me who can do more with these mechs. I just want to show off some cool mechs in the style of @bansheent-d Armored Core For Answer videos.

| Recorded on PS5. Played on Patch 1.04. (NOTE: In order to see a preset AC in the Assembly or Paint tabs of the garage: make sure to first enter the Paint tab, saying "Yes" to removing the edit lock. Then back out of the Paint tab, making sure to "Discard" changes and not save. Now, re-enter the Paint tab and you can see the exact colours of the preset AC! (however, decals will not transfer over.))
