EDIT: According to Eidos' official stats this was the third longest legitimate jump ever, before people discovered a certain glitch that allows one to fly up to any height and start the counter without having something to jump off of.

I searched Youtube for quite a while looking for records greater than this, and the closest one I could find was 6785 meters. Although I'm sure there is someone out there who has fallen farther, this is one of the longest legitimate fall that I know of, and probably one of the longest falls possible. Once you ride the hot air balloon to approximately 6.85 kilometers or so, the basket starts to glitch and throws you out, preventing you from starting the fall counter. I do not think it is possible to go more than a few tens of meters higher than that.

The reason I jumped out of the basket and not from the top of the balloon is because the grappling hook begins to glitch at high altitudes, preventing you from using it on the surface of the balloon. After one unfortunate incident where I found myself stuck on the side of the balloon unable to reach the top, I knew better than to try it again.

Sorry about the map access at the beginning of the video. I wanted to be sure about where I was at, as I wanted to fall over a body of water so as to not end up landing in a place that was higher than where I took off from.
