Blood Tests for Blood Thinners

Описание к видео Blood Tests for Blood Thinners

Some blood thinners require blood testing. The most famous of these is Coumadin. If you take Coumadin (also known as Warfarin), you will need blood testing with the INR test to monitor the effect of the medication on your blood. But other blood thinners do not need monitoring. Examples of such medications are apixaban (Eliquis), dabigatran (Predaxa) and rivaroxaban (Xarelto). But sometimes you need ot know if these blood thinners are in the blood steam. For instance, if a person needs a procedure done or if they are bleeding. Thankfully, there are blood tests that can help with this question. There are even ways to check their levels in special labs. But these are not always available and they can be hard to interpret.
