I Took Three Months off My Corporate Job | sabbatical leave, taking a break, my mental health

I took a three-month break from my corporate 9-5 job — a sabbatical break.

The past year has been tough on us all, me included. With the pandemic engulfing the world, there's a sense of fear and uncertainty that rose. As if that's not stressful enough, work became unbearable and just... too much. I was working a lot of 12-hour days, one week, I even worked for 20 hours back-to-back. I hated it. I fell sick way more than I used to, I wasn't getting enough sleep, I have moments of bursting into tears, I had ZERO life because I was consumed by the never-ending work. Burnout is REAL.

I was SO DONE. I needed a break.

So I took a 3-month break to regain my center and do what makes me happy again. I hope you never reach the point of beyond recognizing yourself, take a break when you need it. If the pandemic has taught us something, it's that there is more to life than slaving away at work.
