In this segment, I discuss tailstock alignment as well as some basics of lathe set up and performance. I will continue to touch on various aspects of set-up and use as we go forward. Now, it may happen that I occasionally say one thing when I mean another; I'm counting on the viewers to recognize this and compensate. At this stage of life, moderate confusion is not uncommon!
While the lathe is basically a very simple tool, there are some complexities which are often ignored or missed. I'll try to address them as they come up.
