Castle Craigs Ride Out

A great day on Saturday 20th July seeing the Castle Craigs Club ride out over the Tarras Valley. The ride-out assembles on the Castle Craigs which is Langholm’s common land. The boundaries of this land have been marked by many generations of the town’s people for over 260 years.

The Castle Craigs Ride Out is a traditional event in Langholm, part of the larger Langholm Common Riding, which is one of the most celebrated and historic events in the town.

The Castle Craigs Ride Out is a prelude to the main Common Riding Day.

Riders on horseback follow a traditional route that often leads to Castle Craigs, a notable hill and landmark in the area. The route is scenic and includes various stops that are significant to the town’s history and traditions.
