Will hip surgery affect my Parkinson's disease?

Описание к видео Will hip surgery affect my Parkinson's disease?

Parkinson's Disease (PD) is on the rise. It's a neurological condition that causes lots of unpleasant symptoms, particularly stiffness, fatigue, constipation and poor mobility. It tends to affect older people mainly, but younger people can develop it as well.
Drugs are used to control the symptoms, but there is lots of evidence to show that regular exercise can really help as well. I met Maria Lewis and Sally Tawhai from Reach Your Peak recently. They are physiotherapists who specialize in PD and they have developed a brilliant exercise programme called Get Started to help people stay mobile and independent for longer. What happens if you have PD and a painful hip? Watch this video to find out. We'll discuss the challenges that surgery presents, and how we manage them.

Update. There is increasing speculation the President Biden has PD. It's been pretty obvious that he has been struggling to perform in public, and he certainly exhibits some signs of PD. Let's hope that he gets the treatment that he needs.
