Importantly, if you buy a single PB-16 Ultra, and later realize you need duals, they may be gone when you come to that inevitable conclusion. You might be able to find one in the Outlet, but it really is best to go dual from the start.

I genuinely understand that it might be out of your reach to go dual PB-16 from the start.

For anyone who thinks dual subs are just a marketing ploy, designed to get you to spend double, I'm giving you a better option that is $100 less, and gives you **a better overall experience than a SINGLE PB-16**.

I've also read that one of the con's to the PB-16 is that it's not as dynamic or powerful in the mid and upper bass range, compared to most subs.

Not to pick on anyone, but if this is your conclusion, you're not getting the full benefits of this sub. They are simply improperly integrated. Period.

Basically, you increase gain until the PB-16 gives you the same output at 70-90 hertz as a basic subwoofer, which will mean ZERO compromise at mid and upper bass, while introducing you to a whole new world of deep bass goodness, while remaining balanced and proper.

I'm sorry to see these amazing subs go, but the incoming PB-17's should be epic!

At $4,200 for dual PB-16's vs $5,700 for PB-17's, that's $1,500 less for a proven, top tier subwoofer. And with the 1 year trade up, you have time to get feedback on whether the PB-17's are a strong upgrade over the PB-16's or not. I'll definitely let you know, even if I feel it's not.
