Why are young people in China wearing traditional Han Chinese clothes? Is Hanfu nationalistic, or just aesthetic? In this episode I explore some controversial aspects of the movement 00:42, then take you behind-the-scenes of a traditional Chinese makeover I did in Shanghai last year 2:45 (including trying on a concubine outfit that made me feel like a "human burrito" 4:41).
