Meet Priyathambi - an old farmer living in a small village in Tamil Nadu.

His family owned 10 acres of land in the village, and that was his sole income.

But, when it wouldn’t rain 6 months a year, there was no harvest and no income.

His five grandchildren wanted always dreamt of being international chefs. But in 2018, that dream fell through, so they did what they could:

They started a YouTube channel right where they were, in that village.

For the first six months, nobody watched it. They were creating for empty rooms.

Until one day, it rained in their village for the first time in six years.

That rain brought winged termites — a local delicacy.

They just made a video of them enjoying it. And it went viral, and reached 8 million people.

Today, they have almost 30 million subscribers and 9 billion views.

2 years ago when I was home in Chennai, I remember my mom watching this almost every day.

They cook everything: a lot of meat, and sometimes, some really fun stuff:

like giant ice creams and watermelon jelly.

But the reason they became so popular is not just the stunning visuals or fresh vegetables.

They feed people at the end of every video. In the beginning, it was a few, and eventually, it got to hundreds

Today, they even share a number so you can donate to feed more people.

Priyathambi thatha shares, “I’ve cooked at many events for 1,000 people. Yet, I never got as much happiness as I do now. Nobody appreciated my cooking before. Now, everyone appreciates us.”

Funny story: these 6 men eventually did achieve their goal of going abroad.

Just a few weeks ago, they were in New York, and made a big feast for people.

But now, going abroad is just another day for them, because they’ve achieved success right where they are.

They dreamed of going abroad. Instead, the world came to them.
