Matthew Tkachuk suffers serious leg injury after dangerous hit from Nikita Kucherov

The Florida Panthers could be missing one of their star players for a while.

During a tense contest with the Tampa Bay Lightning on Monday night, All-Star winger Matthew Tkachuk was injured and needed help getting off the ice.

He suffered a hard hit with 3:09 minutes left in the first period.

Tkachuk didn't come out at the start of the second period - but he was back on the ice shortly after.

The crowd went crazy when Tkachuk was shown back on the ice on the big screen at 2:19 of the second period with the Panthers on a 5-on-3 power play.
