A Bridge above Cleveland's Steel Mills: Clark Avenue Bridge

Описание к видео A Bridge above Cleveland's Steel Mills: Clark Avenue Bridge

The Clark Avenue bridge was built by the City of Cleveland at a cost of $1.5 million between 1904-1917. It spanned 6,687 feet over the upper industrial flats to Pershing Avenue and opened on October 24, 1917. The bridge closed on October 16, 1978, due to corrosive air pollution from the steel mills under and surrounding it. Demolition started in 1980 and on January 14, 1985, the last section of the bridge came down.
