Hereditary Angioedema (HAE) is a chronic rare and potentially life-threatening disease that causes severe swelling in the tissues of different parts of your body. HAE is a genetic condition that causes a deficiency of the blood protein C1 Inhibitor. Swelling attacks can affect the hands, feet, face, airway, throat, genitals, and stomach.
HAE can’t be cured and can greatly affect the day to day life of patients. It is important to get treatment and support when living with this disease.
