Swelling means your body is already holding on to too much water. Drinking more in this condition can be dangerous—it might lead to fluid buildup in the lungs, causing breathlessness and discomfort, especially when lying down.

𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗗𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗶𝗳 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗛𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗦𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴

Many people worry about flushing out toxins if they reduce water intake. The key is to listen to your body. If your mouth feels dry, take small sips—about 50 ml at a time. Wait for the next sign of thirst before drinking again. This keeps you hydrated without overloading your kidneys.

𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗪𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗦𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴

If there’s no swelling, drinking around 100 ml when thirsty is generally safe. But it’s still important to monitor your health—check your protein levels and thyroid regularly. Even without swelling now, kidney patients are always at risk, so caution is always wise.
