Here is how to make your own homemade fish attractant scent to put on lures and bait and catch more fish. I have not seen anyone use this method. I am using uncooked raw shrimp and blending it into a liquid in warm vegetable shortening or Crisco. the reason I am using Crisco is it has a butter like consistency and will not be washed off easily and melts at much higher temperature than butter, lard, or coconut oil.
Do not heat the shrimp , you do not want to denature the shrimp protein, it is better to have the shrimp as fresh and natural as possible. I freeze the bait butter and only use a small portion when fishing. It is easy to cut the corner edge of the bag and squeeze out the bait to keep it from being messy.
Give tis a try and see if you do not increase your bites.
