Will classics lose the fight? Classic literature are currently canceled or remade to suit fashionable trends in education. These are some of the best stories ever told, but they are updated or removed to fit an increasingly w0ke narrative.
A school district in Massachusetts removed Homer, the blind bard credited with authoring the Iliad and the Odyssey, from their classrooms. A university in the UK made plans to either cut The Canterbury Tales and Beowulf from their curriculum or “innovate” them. Others said that the school is doing this because the stories are “boring.”

The attempts to remove, replace, or revise time-honored texts and stories are part of a larger effort to undermine a proper understanding of education. Classic stories, such as Canterbury Tales and Beowulf, spark the imagination and, if taught well, can build virtue and character in people— especially the young.
