I left the last episode with this radio blowing the house circuit breaker So what was the problem?
You will have to watch to find out.
This was a battery-powered "farm" radio, a model 556 and ran off a 6V car (or tractor) battery via a vibrator type power supply. It was converted to 240V mains power at some time, possibly by someone with little skill, possibly following a set of instructions, maybe from a magazine or something similar.
This left a few things to be tidied up and I also did some minor modifications of my own. It really has been a battle to get this crusty old thing finished.
