After finishing runner-up to Ben Pattison in the British Olympic trials 800m, the Halifax Harrier talks about the race and why he didn't employ his familiar front-running tactics.

After struggling with long-term Achilles pain, which was eventually diagnosed as a sural nerve issue in December, he has been unable to race this year until the UK Champs. But he made his season debut in style to qualify for Paris.

"If you told me last week I was going to finish second, I'd be pretty happy with that!"

After his success in Manchester he is now planning more races ahead of the Olympics in Paris.

He also talks here about his set-up at university in Leeds, where he studies history.
