WE MADE IT! ... and I Didn't Expect to FEEL THIS WAY

Camino De Santiago E16: Nikki and I hiked from Porto Portugal all the way to Santiago Spain. Yes, on our own two feet. Well, technically our own four feet. Which using some basic math of the average number of human strides per mile times the distance of our walking between those two countries … and yep … almost half a million steps have been taken.

WAIT! … there’s two of us, which means doubling that. So between Nikki and I we walked …. HOLY @^%$ that’s a lot of freaking footprints.

But before we get to that glorious moment when that last step was taken … you can’t understand the ending until you understand the journey. So let’s start there … almost a month ago.

IN THE BEGINNING …
One day, as we were wrapping up our Baja adventure, it struck us that we didn’t yet know where we were going to go next.

“What do you want to do?”, I asked.
“I don’t know, how about you?”, she replied.

Crickets were heard.

And then on a whim we just decided to put our bus "The Huckleberry" into storage, fly ourselves across the ocean to Portugal, and then walk for a month (or so) until we arrived at a certain cathedral in Spain.

And yea, it pretty much went exactly like that. LOL!

Hi, I'm Rick and I live in a bus.
