Credit where credit is due Davie Parker came up with this pattern some years ago and named it the Retirer. Now if you type Retirer Fly into google you will be met by a hoard of different patterns. Davie named this fly 'The Retirer' because it retires the rest of your fast water dry flies from use. I would not go so far as to say that but it is indeed one of the most effective patterns out there. I have tried where I can to stay true to Davie's recipe, why mess with a proven killer.
