Tangmere and the Unexpected York 27 06 2024

When I found out 2 x class 33,s had gone to the National Railway Museum I went to see if I could see where they were, I did not expect the area where steam locomotives have been serviced and loaded with coal to be made into a car park, there was no sign of the class 33's either so I returned to the station only to find they had just hauled two steam locomotives through. I knew they were due to return to Carnforth and had plenty of time to get a cup of tea, no sooner had I got that the 33's unexpectedly appeared running 50 mins early. The day ended with another unexpected sight of a class 91 diverted from Leeds due to trespassers on the line between Doncaster and Leeds.
