Oberhausen is a city on the river Emscher in the Ruhr Area, Germany, located between Duisburg and Essen (c. 13 km or 8 mi). The city hosts the International Short Film Festival Oberhausen and its Gasometer Oberhausen is an anchor point of the European Route of Industrial Heritage.

•The District Court of Oberhausen is a court of ordinary jurisdiction and one of seven district courts in the district of the District Court of Duisburg.

•Friedensplatz is a park-like, traffic-calmed area in downtown Oberhausen.

•Oberhausen Town Hall has been the seat of the Oberhausen City Council and administration since 1930.

•The Kaisergarten is the oldest park in the city of Oberhausen. The young industrial city wanted to create a pleasant, refreshing stay in the great outdoors for its citizens "by creating a public garden.“ The park was named in 1898 on the occasion of the 100th birthday of Kaiser Wilhelm I. It is located southwest of the palace buildings and extends from Duisburger Strasse to the Rhein-Herne Canal and from Konrad-Adenauer-Allee to the Oberhausen Hbf.-Sterkrade railway line. The area is a conservation area. Some of the park's plane trees are natural monuments because of their age.

•Slinky springs to fame (also Rehberger Bridge) is the name of a pedestrian bridge over the Rhine-Herne Canal at canal kilometer 8.596, which connects the Kaisergarten in Oberhausen with the sports park on Lindnerstraße opposite and the subsequent Emscher landscape.

•The Ludwig Gallery Schloss Oberhausen is an art museum in Oberhausen. The gallery is located in the Imperial Garden of Oberhausen Castle.

•Revierpark Vonderort was largely created on the site of a disused quartz sand pit. It was opened in 1974 as the third of a total of five Revierparks in the Ruhr area. It was built in the 1920s, and reconstructed after World War II.
