Ep. 4 - Peg loom weaving cushion project with handspun super bulky yarns

Описание к видео Ep. 4 - Peg loom weaving cushion project with handspun super bulky yarns

If your store room is getting filled up with left over bits of fleece that you can't bear to throw away, why not spin up some super bulky yarns with them, and weave a peg loom rug or cushion cover? I'm showing a cushion cover project in this episode, but the principles of this project could also be done just the same for a rug. I also show my peg loom I purchased, but it could easily be a home-made loom, made from scrap wood. This is a very ancient form of weaving going back thousands of years. Often peg loom rugs were (and still are) made without spinning the wool, and with greasy fleece, as sleeping mats, and the grease kept the wool semi-water proof, and stopped the damp rising up to the sleeper. This could still be done for camp beds. So, there are lots of uses for this type of weaving, and also it can be done with stipped rags instead of yarns or fleece.
