If you've followed me for a while, you will notice that I love using either bacon and/or cheese every chance I get.

This recipe is JUST those 2 ingredients
Really??? An entire recipe out of just bacon & cheese? Well... yes... sort of. I cheated a little and added a smear of Bovril (the beefier meat extract similar to marmite & vegemite).

... and a bacon weave?

So... A Bacon Weave BraaiBroodjie?

As I mentioned, I REALLY love me some bacon is almost any recipe... and a very close second is cheese. And a many few years ago, I had this brainwave that I wanted to substitute the bread part of the BraaiBroodjie with bacon.

The first time I tried it, I made the weave and added the cheese to raw bacon weaves. The end result was a very underwhelming non-crispy bacon with half the cheese having oozed out. I swore I would try it again, but just never got around to it.. UNTIL NOW.

I'm pretty sure I would (gladly) eat myself into a coma with just a few of these ;-) How about you?
