Video from my day ride through the northern communities of Fort Vermilion and La Crete. I had no idea that Ft. Vermilion is Alberta's oldest community or that there was so much farmland around La Crete which is home to many Mennonite farmers. Had to make a couple pit stops for ice cream (at Lime Blu in FV) and for homemade peach cheesecake and coffee (at Homestyle Bakery and Lunch Counter in LC) to keep my energy up. Thankfully the Mennonite women who run the bakery had plenty of delicious treats to choose from. Then from La Crete I was lucky enough to finish my route by crossing the Peace River on the ferry which had been closed for 2 months prior right up to the day I was there, talk about great timing. All in all it was a perfect day to be out on the bike enjoying new scenery and meeting new faces. Enjoy.
